My Navigator

Happy Sabbath friends! If you have ever felt lost, or unsure of the next route to take in your life, then this message is for you. There has been multiple moments in my life when I did not know the next steps that God had in store for me. I can recall moments when I felt like I was in the unknown, and it was scary, but it was a testament of faith when I replaced that fear with faith in God. In moments when we are faced with uncertainty, or the unknown, we can rest in the fact that God already knows what the next steps are, and He will be our navigator through whatever we may be facing.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.”
Psalms 25:4 NIV

“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
Psalms 16:11 NIV

There are multiple times in the Bible that touch on the matter that God is our navigator. He is our navigator through the storm, the mountain, the valley, etc. Nothing is too big, too small, or too difficult for our Heavenly Father to guide us through it to safety and peace with Him. There is a specific story that comes to mind with the matter of God being our navigator, and that is The Exodus – when God was leading the Israelites out of Egypt.

“By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.”
Exodus 13:21-22 NIV

Our Heavenly Father was a navigator for the Israelites in the aspect that He provided them with a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire to guide them. I love when it states, “the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people”. This really emphasizes on the fact that the Lord will not only guide us, but He will never leave us nor forsake us. The Israelites faced a lot of uncertainty and the unknown, so much so that they entertained the idea of going back to captivity because they allowed fear to take control. When we replace that fear with our faith in God, we can trust that He will guide us through, and He will never leave us.

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.””
Hebrews 13:5 NIV

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.””
Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
Isaiah 43:2 NIV

I pray over all who are reading this message for them to be filled with Your Holy Spirit, Lord Jesus. We may face times in our lives when we may feel lost, or maybe we are unsure of the next steps in our lives, but we can rest in the truth that You will guide us through as You already know what is in store for us. Help us to replace any fear with Your abundant faith. Help us to surrender ourselves to You, and place our complete trust in You in the fact that You will guide us through what may seem like the impossible in our minds.

Thank you for being our navigator, Lord Jesus.

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’”
Isaiah 46:10 NIV

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.””
Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV

Amen.
