I’m Tired

Happy Sabbath friends! I hope you all had a blessed week, and I pray your 2025 is going amazingly so far! Unfortunately this week, I came face to face with a sickness that really threw me off of my normal routine. It is not my favorite thing to be sick, but unfortunately it does happen, especially during these colder months. Even though my sickness was a negative of my week, I am going to turn it into a positive by correlating it to a beautiful message from our Heavenly Father. May His message enrich you during this Sabbath day.

I am sure we have had moments in our lives where we have felt so weak whether it was physically, emotionally, or even spiritually. Moments where we have wanted to cry out to Jesus exclaiming how tired we are. Tired of the hurt. Tired of the pain. Tired of everything. I am here to confidently tell you that He hears you. Our Heavenly Father hears your pain, and He genuinely wants to help and be there for you during this time. No matter how tired, or weak we may feel, God will give us the strength to prevail.

““Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 NIV

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
Isaiah 40:29 NIV

Let us delve into a story about a woman who was also tired and in need of a Savior to give her the strength to persevere.

“While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.” Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples. Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment. When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s house and saw the noisy crowd and people playing pipes, he said, “Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him. After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up. News of this spread through all that region.”
Matthew 9:18-26 NIV

First, I would like to note that this story in the book of Matthew is not fully about the woman who was bleeding for twelve years, but also the daughter of Jairus who died. Jesus was amongst a crowd of people, and yet, still could sense the presence of a tired woman who merely just touched his cloak. Isn’t that beautiful? It is such a testament that even when we may feel Jesus is “too busy” for us, or moments where we feel He cannot hear us, that is far from the truth. Just like the tired woman, we need to have faith, and trust that God sees us even amidst the crowd of others who are also in need of His love and care. I love the book of Matthew because the whole purpose is to show who Jesus truly is. We know from reading the book of Matthew that Jesus is not just a healer, but the Messiah, and He chose us despite the fact that we are indeed sinners.

The story of Jairus’ daughter and the woman who bled for twelve years are testaments to whenever we face moments in our lives where we are tired, weak, broken, etc., and these stories are a constant reminder that God sees us despite that low place we may feel we are in. He will pull us right out of it, as long as we have faith just as the woman who bled for twelve years did. Just as Jairus had faith that Jesus could raise his daughter who was pronounced dead, Jesus made the impossible…possible.

“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.””
Matthew 19:26 NIV

“He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.””
Matthew 17:20 NIV

I pray over all who are reading this message that even in moments where they feel tired, weak, broken, etc., that they put their complete faith in You, Jesus. I pray that you fill our hearts with faith as small as a mustard seed so we can truly believe in moments of distress that You are more than capable of getting us out and providing us with the strength to prevail. What may seem impossible to us, is more than possible for You, Lord, as long as we put our complete faith and trust in You to carry us through the tough times we may face. Thank you for always seeing us, even amidst a world that is also in need of Your love as much as we are. Help us to truly believe and trust in the fact that we are deserving of Your everlasting love, and to cherish this fact.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39 NIV

In closing, I want you all to reflect on the below verse, and to truly apply it to your lives as much as you can. You are going to face moments where you feel tired, weak, broken, etc., but the below verse is a constant reminder of the everlasting fact that Jesus will carry you through, and will help you persevere through those difficult moments. All our Heavenly Father asks is that you give all your burdens to Him.

God’s got you, always.

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:29-31 NIV

Amen.
