Happy Sabbath friends! I know I can speak upon my life on this, and possibly this applies to you as well, but have you ever had moments where you don’t know what’s next in your life? Or maybe you are worried about the future? I know for my life, I have always had everything planned out. When I was in college, I had an excel spreadsheet that literally planned out my next five years. I have always made sure to have a game plan laid out for my life. Yes, that is good to do, but it can become a problem if you are not allowing God to take the wheel in your life.
Plans and/or goals that you set in your life are ultimately subject to change because God may have other plans in store for you, that will benefit you in the long run. If your trust is not fully in God, and let’s say a sudden change in plans occur in your life, it can leave you stressed out and/or scared of the unknown. But if you place your trust in God and allow Him full control over your life, when a sudden change occurs, you’ll be in safe hands of our Heavenly Father who already has your whole life planned out accordingly to His purpose that He sees for you.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
God’s plan for you is already set in stone, and we know from His word that it is meant to prosper you, give you hope, and a future. In Psalms it is even said that His plans won’t just give you a future, but a future with success:
“May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests. Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”
Psalms 20:1-7 NIV
He will make all our plans succeed. I absolutely love this verse in the book of Psalms as it is so encouraging in the matter that if we just place our complete trust in Jesus, that He will indeed be with us every step of the way, and will prosper us. Our Heavenly Father only wants the best for us at the end of the day. It is proven time and time again in the Word of God that He is always looking out for us, and wants us to have victory with Him by our sides. Praise the Lord for the fact that we have an almighty God who loves and cares for us, and only wants the best for us, always.
“There the Lord will be our Mighty One. It will be like a place of broad rivers and streams. No galley with oars will ride them, no mighty ship will sail them. For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us.”
Isaiah 33:21-22 NIV
We may face unexpected trials and tribulations in our lives, but we are reminded in the Word of God time and time again, that God is fighting for us. Just as it’s mentioned in the book of Isaiah, He will save us through whatever we may be going through. You may have all these plans and/or goals that may seem set in stone, but God may have other plans for you. Trust in the fact that He has your best interest in mind, always. He cares for you. He loves you. He will save you, and be there for you through not just your bad times, but your good times in this world.
I have been praying to our Heavenly Father a lot, and the one thing I always keep at the forefront of my mind is “Lord, let YOUR will be done, not my own”. I may have plans and/or goals for my life, but the first step is to give complete trust to God, and bring all your plans and goals to Him.
God will lead the way, even when you may not know the way. Put your complete trust in Him. Allow Him to take control of the wheel in your life. He will prosper and save you through whatever you may face in this world.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.””
Joshua 1:9 NIV
“The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the Lord will prosper.”
Proverbs 28:25 NIV
Amen.
