Lately I feel like division has been taking over our world. There is not much unity to be found if I am being honest. The devil has done a really good job of dividing friendships, relationships and the world in general. The world has become so divided, and it truly breaks my heart. For this blog post, I wanted to share the importance of unity and what God has to say about it as well.

Let’s start off by sharing what the Word of God has to say about being divided:

“Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand’” (Matthew 12:25 NIV).

Do you see anywhere in that verse where Jesus says that being divided will lead to success, or happiness? After reading that verse, I see Jesus stating that anything divided will simply either fall, be ruined, or not succeed.

Now let’s see what the Word of God has to say about unity:

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Psalms 133:1 NIV).

The Word of God states that it is good and pleasant for God’s people to live in unity! This verse shows how important unity is for our Christian lives! God did not make us to be alone, or turn against one another. In fact, the moment us Christians turn our backs on one another is the moment our kingdom becomes divided and falls! As God’s people, we need to stick together through the trials and tribulations of this world. We are a family, and God is our righteous Father who died to save us from our sins. Give an amen to that!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV).

Trust in Him. The world may be divided right now, but God has a plan. God will protect, guide and keep you safe if you just submit to Him.

Remember: you are not alone on this journey. As God’s people, we are a family. We are united and should keep it that way because that is what’s going to keep God’s kingdom strong.
