As we all know, Halloween is today. Personally, Halloween has never been my favorite holiday. I enjoy the candy, but the scariness and evil about it is not for me. I am one of those people that as soon as it hits midnight on Halloween, I immediately get into Christmas mode for November and December. I know many will say as Christians we should not partake in Halloween and you can take that how you want, but the message I believe God is telling me to portray to you all today would be to stay on the narrow way despite the evils of this world.

I thought this topic would be perfect because like I stated: Halloween is based around scariness and evil which are two things God does not delight in at all. “So follow the steps of the good, and stay on the paths of the righteous” (Proverbs 2:20 NLT). God delights in goodness and righteousness. Even though today may be Halloween, use today to delight in the Lord. Go on a walk and enjoy the beautiful nature that God gave us. Read the Bible and tell God about how amazing your week has been, or rant to Him about the struggles of your week. Instead of delighting in the scariness and evils of this world, delight in Jesus and the goodness He brings when you submit yourself to Him. “Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy” (Deuteronomy 5:33 NLT). The world is temporary…heaven is forever. Stray away from the evilness of this world and go towards the path that the Lord has laid out for you. He wants the best for you and He is promising the best for you: heaven and eternal life with Him.

It may be Halloween today, but by the time this is posted it will still be my Sabbath so…Happy Sabbath my brothers and sisters in Christ!
