There has been so much going on recently throughout the world, but I want to touch on a topic about the end times. What are the signs? When will Jesus come back to save us all? Lucky for you, the answers to these questions are all in the Word of God. I would delve into the 22 chapters of Revelation with you, but that’s a whole topic I can discuss a different time. When I was reading my Bible this morning, I was reading Matthew 24. I was amazed with the amount of information that Jesus gave not only the disciples, but to us as well. Let’s delve into this chapter together. So Jesus starts on verse 5 saying “‘For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many”. So as Jesus states, this is one of the signs of the times. People are going to come into society and try to trick people into thinking that they are Christ and you may see people actually believe it! The next sign that Jesus states: “‘And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet’”. We obviously know that there has been many wars in the past, but as Jesus states, “the end is not yet”. So what else is there? How bad can it get before Jesus comes to save all of His children from this sinful world? “‘For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places’”. As I’m reading this, I’m only three signs in and almost more than half of the signs Jesus listed has already took place in some way don’t you think? Let’s read on: “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake”. What I gathered from this verse is that as a believer, you will be persecuted by this world. You will sadly be punished for believing in Christ, and maybe even sent to prison for it! When these things happen, we need to fully trust in God because as believer’s we know God is coming again to save us from this heartbreaking tribulation. “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another”. Haven’t you noticed that especially recently people in this world are turning from one another! It’s causing riots, violence and looting! It’s so heartbreaking what’s been going on in this world despite which side you may have. But this is a sign that the end of times are near. God says multiple times to not fear and that’s the exact mindset we have to have during these times. Everything that’s happening may be scary, but we need to hold onto God’s hand and wait patiently for His coming so we can all be saved from this scary and sinful world. “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many”. I’m pretty sure that there has been news that people in the past or even now have been declaring themselves to be Christ and there may be some who actually believe it. As a believer, we know that when Christ comes again, we all will know it. Some will fear it, while others will rejoice. “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold”. This has been happening for the longest time. There is sin everywhere and that is yet another sign of Jesus’ coming again! “But he who endures to the end shall be saved”. This is amazing. So those who keep their faith in Christ throughout all the tribulations and sin in this world will be saved in the end. God promises us all as believers eternal life, but there will be trials we will have to face. I want you to ponder this: Where does your faith lie? Among the rocks or the sand? I pray that whoever is reading this chooses to lay their foundation among the rocks because rocks are firm compared to the sand. When your foundation is among the rocks, there is no way this world can tear you from our Heavenly Father. I know the tribulations and trials may be scary, but when you stay true to Jesus, you will be saved and free from the bondage’s of this world. To me that sounds like the greatest gift anyone could ever receive…eternal life with Jesus.
Amen.
