Do you look at yourself in the mirror and just think “wow, God made me perfectly”? Or do you look at yourself in the mirror and start pointing out “flaws” that you notice about yourself? Do you ever feel like you’re not good enough? Or other people have told you that and/or pointed out a flaw as well? I can admit that I am guilty of every thing listed. There are days where I feel less than what I actually am. If you feel this way, or have ever felt this way, guess what? I want you to picture yourself holding these “flaws” or hurtful words people have ever said to you: “you’re too skinny”, “you’re too fat”, “you will never be good enough”, etc. Now I want you to picture yourself throwing these phrases away. Just release them from yourself because guess what! God knows you’re enough! He doesn’t care if you’re skinny, fat, etc. He made you!!! To Him you are a living artwork! A living masterpiece in His eyes! He made us all to be different, and “different” is beautiful in our Lord’s eyes. Isn’t that amazing? The next time you look at yourself in the mirror, I want you to start pointing out the good aspects of yourself. Start realizing the good about you that God has handcrafted so beautifully within you! “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV). Everything that God created is beautiful in His eyes. He created us!! We are beautiful in His eyes!! We all just need to realize it in order to believe it! I pray that whoever may be reading this message today realizes their worth and sees what God sees! I pray that we all will be able to look at ourselves and instantly say “God made that…I am beautiful in His eyes”.
“So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27 NIV).
Amen.
