Being a Christian can have its ups and downs. Some people view Christianity and think that all Christians are perfect. That is not merely the case. The only one who is perfect is God! We are all sinners, but God is such a forgiving and loving God that despite our mistakes He still loves us. Throughout my lifetime I have made many mistakes. Believe me. I’ve had people throw those mistakes to my face and say I’m not a Christian because of it. Isn’t that crazy! We all can more than likely admit that in our past, or even now, we have made mistakes. But no one should throw those flaws, mistakes, sins to your face because they are not the judge…God is. I’m going to get real here and say that no one should judge someone else’s salvation. We are all on our own paths with Christ. We all have our own special relationship with Christ. God made loving and worshipping Him a choice and if we have made that personal choice to accept Christ in our lives then His opinion should be the only one that matters! The world is going to tear and cut you down, but if you can get in your mindset that Jesus’ opinion is the only one that should matter, the world won’t get the worst of you. God knows your heart. He knows we are sinners, but He loves us anyway! He forgives us for the sins that may seem absolutely terrible in the eyes of the world. Every sin is equal in God’s eyes believe it or not. If you are currently feeling guilty, ashamed, or whatever negative feeling you may be experiencing, talk to God and ask for forgiveness! Repent for your sins! “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” (Acts 3:19 NIV). When you repent your sins and ask for forgiveness, God will wipe your slate clean. When you are filled with the love of God, you will become a new person. Don’t let the world tear you down, make you feel less, or try to define you in a negative way. Listen to only God’s opinion and view upon you. I can promise you it will be positive and uplifting because He loves and knows you. He knows your heart better than anyone else. “Jesus said to them, ‘You make yourselves look good in front of people. But God knows what is really in your hearts. What people think is important is worth nothing to God’” (Luke 16:15 ERV).
Amen.
