2019 was truly a year of growth. Each year I always choose a word and Bible verse to live by. For 2019, I picked the word “Happiness” and the Bible Verse “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand” (Psalms 16:11 NIV). I started the year not knowing my worth and trying to find true happiness within myself and God. This year consisted of many trials, mistakes, etc. and I will forever learn from it all. 2019 was the year where I finally got the chance to find and truly start to love myself as the girl God made me to be. This was also the year I graduated high school and finally got that fresh start I’ve wanted for so long. I started college in 2019 and I’ve met some amazing people who have really been there for me. But, I also lost many people that taught me many lessons such as: what type of people I want in my life, some people are only supposed to be in your life for a season, etc. I can confidently say I finally found happiness within myself and God now that 2019 is coming to an end. I have finally understood and learned the concept that you can’t find true happiness in man, but in God. I am beyond excited for 2020 because I’m going into this year knowing my worth and having true happiness through God. My word and Bible verse for the year of 2020 is “Patience” and the verse: “But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently” (Romans 8:25 NIV). All my life I have had awful patience. When I think I want something, I would want it now. I may have finally found true happiness through God, but I am currently in a “waiting season”; especially when it comes to relationships. For 2020, I really want to work on being patient and trusting God. I want to be able to have good patience during this “waiting season” I am currently in, and trust God that He will lead me to the man with my name written on his heart. I have a really good feeling for 2020 that it’s going to be full of miracles, growth, happiness, patience, self-love, etc. Obviously I’ll go through trials and make mistakes, but don’t we all? No one is perfect. Only God. Mistakes and trials help us grow and that’s the beauty of it. Jesus is also a forgiving God so despite any mistakes you and I face in 2020, God will forgive because He loves you and I. I pray that whoever is reading this also has a blessed 2020. This is going to be our year of thriving with Jesus. God bless you all. 2020 lets do this thing.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV).
