The season of singleness is truly a time of growth. I know that during my times of singleness, it can be a rollercoaster. You have stages of loneliness, happiness, growth, setbacks, etc. But one thing that has stuck with me is growth. During my season of singleness I have noticed so much growth within myself. In the past I would always rely so much on man that I never had true faith within myself, or even God. I would always rely on a man to bring me out of troubled waters, or bring me “happiness”, but the only thing man would do was filling a void of loneliness. We all crave being loved. We all crave the idea of having a person to go to when we are in need of comfort. The funny thing is…Jesus is that person! That person we say we crave during our time of singleness is right in front of us! His name is Jesus Christ! “You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water” (Psalms 63:1 NIV). During the time of singleness, it is normal to feel that feeling of loneliness. It’s an awful feeling, but I truly believe it’s a feeling that overwhelms us when we are needing Jesus. I have learned that Jesus is the driving force that fills that void that seems to be missing in our hearts. When I’m with Jesus, I feel like I’m on fire for Him! I feel at peace and filled with joy knowing that He loves me unconditionally. If you’re currently in a season of singleness and you start to feel lonely, or in “need” of a relationship, pray! Go to God and ask Him to fill your heart with His love. Being in a relationship should be the last thing you worry about…give that worry, if it is one, to God! God will lead you to the man with your name written on his heart. Be patient and trust God! He knows the man that will love you like how 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 states you should be loved. Jesus is LOVE.
